INCEPTION AND ACTIVITIES OF THE NATIONAL MOVEMENTS OF THE FINNO-UGRIC PEOPLES LIVING IN THE NORTH OF THE EUROPEAN PART OF RUSSIA

Abstract

The article carries a comparative analysis of ethno-political processes resulting from the activities by the national non-governmental movements and associations of the indigenous Finno-Ugric peoples living in the North of the European part of Russia - the Komis, the Karelians, the Vepsians, the Finn - Ingermanlanders - during the RF society's transformation period at the turn of the 1980s.
