Abstract

The main idea of the article is to trace the origin and dispersion of Islam through tatar' communities on the territory of modern Nizhny Novgorod region. The basic criterion of the research is the revealing of peculiarities in state-confessional relations (The Russian State and Islam as an example) in different time frames on a certain political subdivision.
