On the distinctive features of the early XXth century Russian constitutionalism

Abstract

This article shows that some distinctive features of Russian constitutionalism at the beginning of the XXth century contributed to a capture of power by the Bolsheviks in October 1917. Pseudo-constitutionalism of autocracy led to complete loss of legitimacy of power, and the dogmatic limitations of Russian legal science did not allowed to develop a theoretical alternative to this policy. The author conceives that similar things take place in modern Russia
