Abstract

The article analyses the characteristics of ethnic and confessional identity of the representatives of the three main ethnic groups in Kalmykia. The authors have illustrated their conclusions with the data obtained in the 2004 sociological polls permitting to make a study of the particular features of identification processes unfolding in the republic.
