Abstract

In the past 10-15 years there appeared great many gambling establishments in Russia which created a number of both legal and social problems. The article underscores the role of the state in what concerns the regulation of commercial gambling, the required efficient arrangements aimed to en-sure a normal development of this sphere. It also cites the examples of Western countries that have for long been dealing - with varied success - with the problems that our country has confronted now.
