On Metalevel of Communication in Interraction

Abstract

The article is based on experimental research of communicative interraction between diads of participants and defines utterance types which differ in function, refer to different components of interraction and belong to the metalevel of communication. Situations of highly cooperative and efficient communication are explored along with those where communication becomes asymmetrical due to communicative or cognitive deficiency of one of the participants. There are suppositions made as to the ratio between explicit meta-utterances and implicit meta-information.
